Let's work on this story, now that is fresh on our minds!
A minute for thinking
Do you realize that sometimes we are much more scared of the unknown than of many actually dangerous things? Reflect on those things that make you feel something similar. Do you think that someone who haven't met you before should be afraid of you or your house? Why?
Let's talk!
Surely you remember something that scared you for years and turned out there was no reason to be scared of. Tell your child that story in a funny way to help her realize that even though we all have unfounded fears, we all can overcome them
Why don't you try this?
To overcome the fear of the unknown, you can try this game: anytime your child quit doing something because of fear of the unknown (such as entering a new place, talking to someone, try a new meal...) she will be allowed to quit if she demonstrates a sounded knowledge of the activity. Ask her three questions about it -taking into account her age-. Only if she answers right to all of them, she will be allowed to quit
