How can I use these stories? May I copy and distribute them?

To put it in simple words, the general rule governing the usage of these stories is based on the objective that I framework to the public:

"I would like this work to help as many people as possible, but retaining any merits and demerits, thus as if someday someone earns some money with it, that will be mainly myself :-)"

In short, there are no restrictions to use our stories with its original purpose-to educate children by anyone, parent, grandparent, neighbor or teacher, but is not permitted commercial use or distribution for commercial purposes without written permission.
Especially critical to preserve this site seems to me an explicit ban on publishing the story in any other website without permission. However, if you want to publish only a few stories (up to 5, whcih seems a reasonable number), there is no need to apply for a permission, just put a visible link to the page of the story or the homepage of our site, and you are done.

Let's see it easier with a few examples:

  • A teacher sees a story that seemed interesting, makes 50 copies and distribute them to children in her class at school. Perfect, no license problem. In this case she just cites source and author.
  • The same teacher works with an educational magazine and decides to send the story to be published. As the magazine has commercial purposes, she must request authorization.
  • That same teacher has a blog and decides to publish the story. To do this, she adds a link to our home page next to the text of the story
  • Our teacher likes so much all our stories, that she wants to collect them and publish a lot of them. Although their desire is understandable, and we do the same ourselves, she must request permission :-) and probably will not receive it.

    Do not panic anyone, we have no problem accepting certain uses and distributions, and in fact we have already approved some at no cost, but we want to have some control.

    In any case, feel free to contact us to address these issues.

    One last note. All this usage terms refers to the texts of the stories, which is what we have rights over. Most drawings are taken from internet and we have no right over them (unless otherwise specified). Moreover, if anyone believes that any of our little pictures could infringe other's copyrights, please notify us using the same form, and it will be replaced.

    Want to use 3 of your very good stories in a school text book

    Dear Pedro Pable

    I am a retired teacher and was teaching a a reputed school in New Delhi, India. My subject is a language called 'Punjabi'. I am now working as an author with a reputed publisher and in the process of writing text books for young kids (Grade 1 to 5). I came across this website and found some very good stories meant for young kids.

    Please accept my heartiest congratulations and blessings on writing such good stories. In my lifetime, I've not come across such good work and that too by such a young writer. You have done wonders.

    I don't want to devoid children of going through your good writings and so I intend to translate the following mentioned stories in Punjabi language and give them in text books. These text books will only be circulated in schools for education purposes.

    I hope you understand and give authorization to use these stories.
